The paper trail for this family only goes back to Peter, b ~1832 in Canada. The information for this family -- particularly for the earlier generations, is incomplete and unverified-- lots of work is still needed. Therefore, use caution when using this data.

The use of names such as 'Alfred,' 'Theophile,' and 'Tuffeld' strongly suggests a connection with the Albert group of P-rr-ts; specifically, Peter might have been a grandson of Jaques and Catherine Robert Perot. It will take the discovery of new records or DNA testing to verify the connection.

  • Y-DNA testing is needed for this family. If you are a male from this line, sign up to get tested and thus help uncover its history and origins.

    Leander Parrott Co.

The Leander Parrott company was formed nine years ago by Leander Parrott, who for the past 30 yearr. s had been in business as a platerer and mason. Mr. Parrott decided to branch out and opened an offie in the Shay block on Park street. He hired several men to help him, and at the present time employs over 30 masons and plasterers.

Since the beginning of the business, the use of stucco which was practically new in this section was used in the construction of houses and other buildings. Composition and tile floorings are a specialty with the company. The company has also done concrete work during its existence.

Among the biggest contracts undertaken by the Parrott company are the Hibbard school in Pittsfield, the St. Joseph Catholic church in Pittsfield, Miss Hall's school for girls in Great Barrington, the new dormitory at Williams college, and the Sarah T. Haskins school in North Adams. The latest work was at Mt. Hope farm where the Parrott men have been at work on the mansion for Mr. Prentice, the Mt. Hope farm proprietor. In Adams, the Parrott company put the special ornamental work on the South Adams Savings bank building, and worked on the St. Stanislaus school, and will begin in the near future on the new Polish Bakery building which will be erected on Hoosac street. It will also begin work soon on the new Berkshire Life Insurance company building in Pittsfield.

Leander Parrott is construction manager of the company and Arthur Hoffman serves as business manager. There are no other officers in the company. Jesse Parrott, son of Mr. Parrott, is outside foreman.

The Parrott office is also the headquarters for the Adams Masons' Supply house and sells building materials to all Adams masons.

In conjunction with the Adams Cement Block company the Parrott company is building a miniature house of cement and stucco for the industrial exhibit to be held next week in the state armory.

Raymond married Joan Marie diAngelis. Joan was born on 13 Jan 1940 in Pittsfield, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts and died on 13 May 2021 in Massachusetts, at age 81.

.Notes: .Joan Marie DiAngelis Parrott died on May 13, 2021 at BMC after suffering a heart attack. Born in Pittsfield, MA on January 13, 1940, she was the daughter of Anthony DiAngelis and Florina Balardini DiAngelis Duda. Joan was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and St. Luke's School of Nursing.

In the early 1970's, Joan worked in the Office at Adams SuperMarket. But realizing her true talents, she began sewing costumes in the mid 1970's and built her business, Parrott-Phernalia, which she ran until 1992. All of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews looked forward to picking out their favorite Halloween costume at her shop. In 1994, she began working alongside her family at A-Mart, becoming the queen of meatloaf, Shepherd's Pie and deviled eggs. But it was her smile and her caring ways that people loved most.

Joan would spend her days enjoying the peace and beauty of her home and land in Windsor. She loved roaming her property, enjoying nature, watching the birds and animals and working in her beautiful flower gardens. You could also find her sitting at her easel, sketching, drawing or painting. But her evenings were for dancing with friends. Joan had a true love for life and meant so much to so many...for to know her was to love her.

Joan was a maternal figure, a listener, a caretaker, but above all, was a giver. She gave her caring heart, not only to her four children, but, also, to so many family members and friends in their times of need. She was the one person everyone could count on. Her loving and generous soul will always live in the hearts of many.

She will forever be our spirit in the sky.

Joan leaves behind her family and many loved ones, including her companion, Cliff Strickland. She leaves her children: Kimberly Kropinski, Ray Parrott and wife Jen, Marc Parrott and wife Holly.

Her grandchildren: Joel Kropinski, Shane Parrott (Allison), Ambyr Parrott (Dan Sumner), Conner Ferris, Kaitlyn Parrott, Hannah Parrott, and Gracie Parrott. She also leaves behind 3 great grandchildren and 3 generations of nieces and nephews, including her godchild, Lynee Levernoch. Joan leaves behind her sisters and their spouses: Barbara and Ed Eurbin, and Sally and Paul Shepard. She leaves a half sister, Lillian Guard. Children from this marriage were:

146 F    i. Kimberly Ann Parrott was born on 22 Mar 1960 in Pittsfield, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts and died on 13 Sep 2021 in Massachusetts, at age 61.

.Notes: .Ms. Kimberly Ann (Parrott) Kropinski passed away unexpectedly during open heart surgery late Monday evening on September 13, 2021.

Born in Pittsfield, MA on March 22, 1960, the daughter of the late Raymond and Joan DiAngelis Parrott, she graduated from Berkshire Community College with an associate's degree in selective studies, focusing on psychology and sociology and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School, class of '78.

Kimberly's passion in life was always caring for and helping those who needed it most. If there was ever a friend in need, Kim would be there with her full sweet spirit, opening her heart in just the way they needed. She began each day with her faith, opening her Bible over a cup of coffee and seeking out the word in a way that would define her day and lift her up throughout her entire life. She occasionally worked as a certified registered nurse, but spent most of her days helping her family, often by her mother's side whether at the costume shop Parrott-Phernalia or at the family-run deli, a staple of the community, A-Mart.

It was her open heart, her quiet, peaceful demeanor that allowed anyone to easily and quickly become her new best friend. To know Kim was to be her friend, but to be in her close circle of loved ones, was to be loved with a fullness rarely felt in life.

As a young girl, Kimberly loved ballet and was an avid reader and skier. Intelligent and inquisitive she always kept up with the latest current and world events.

Her style and flare in life was unmatched, often envied, and rightly so because she always made sure she looked stunning. In life she volunteered at food pantries and did outreach for the homeless whether through a church community or just from her own desires. She was a peaceful woman, who enjoyed nature, listening to the birds, the daily comings and goings of those around her and always kept a cat by her side. Her only son, Joel was her greatest gift and light in her life.

She will be loved...always, as a mother, a sister, a niece, a cousin, and a friend.

Kimberly leaves behind countless loved ones and is survived by her son, Joel Kropinski, as well as her brother Raymond Parrot, Jr. and wife Jennifer Parrott.

She is the sister of the late Tina Marie Parrott and her youngest brother, the late Marc David Parrott. She leaves behind Steve Kropinski, the father of her only child as well as her companion for the last fifteen years of her life, William Wertelet.

    148. Marc David Parrott (Raymond L. Sr.6, Leon Sherman Sr.5, Leon Raymond.4, Leander Leon3, Peter2, Peter1) was born on 8 Jun 1969 in Pittsfield, Berkshire Co., Massachusetts and died on 10 Aug 2021 in Sarasota Co., Florida, at age 52.

.Notes: .Marc David Parrott passed away on August 10, 2021 in Sarasota Florida, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 8, 1969 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to the loving parents of Raymond Sr., and Joan Parrott, brother Ray Jr., and two sisters Kimberly and Tina.

He graduated from St. Joseph's High School where he excelled as a stand out hockey and baseball player with unforgettable dimples. Marc loved working alongside his father from a very young age at their well-known family business, A-Mart on North Street. Eventually becoming President and co-owner with his older brother, Raymond. After the passing of their dad the brothers teamed up by building on his legacy and growing A-Mart to be a staple within the Berkshire County community. Marc was extremely proud and would often credit their success to the relationship he had with his brother, recognizing that it took both their strengths working together to accomplish greatness.

It was at A-mart where he met his wife and love of his life, Holly through her career with a local food distribution company. Marc felt an immediate connection upon their first meeting telling her "they were going to have some great stories to tell their kids someday". Years later they married and had 4 daughters. He loved being Kaitlyn, Hannah, Grace and Bella's dad more than anything in the world. They were the light of his life while also being their biggest cheerleader, coach, encourager, and protector. He took these roles very seriously never missing a soccer game, volleyball match, or dance recital. His favorite and most talked about past times were taking his girls for weekends in Boston to watch the Red Sox and catching the Patriots game on the couch eating buffalo chicken dip.

In 2017 he made a prayerful decision to sell their beloved business and relocate his family to Charlotte, North Carolina. During that time, he was employed by Elevation Church where both he and Holly led ministry groups. It was an extremely blessed and happy season they had deeply cherished. However in 2020 Marc and his family were invited to move with their good friends and next door neighbors to be part of their successfully growing Solar Bear company located in the Tampa, FL area.

Marc leaves a tribe of devastated aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and community who miss him dearly. Besides his wife of 28 years and children, he is survived by his brother Raymond and wife Jennifer, his brother-in-law and best friend Steven and wife Tina, his nephews Shane, Joel, Conner, Jack, Eli and niece Ambyr.

There will be a memorial Hockey game in his memory on Friday, November 26 at 4:00 pm located @ the Boys and Girls Club in Pittsfield, MA. Followed by a reception at Berkshire Hills Country Club. The next morning, a celebration of Life service on Saturday, November 27 @ 11:00 am located at New Life Church 172 Hubbard Ave., in Dalton. This will be officiated by Marc's adored Pastor and friend Jeff Black. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to be a part of these events in honoring Marc's life.
